Board and Train
Professional training. Real-life experience. A stronger foundation for life at home.
Our Board and Train program is a focused, 7-day obedience program where your dog stays with one of our dedicated trainers and receives daily, hands-on training. This immersive setting lets your dog learn foundational obedience skills, proper house manners, and good habits quickly, without you needing to fit weekly class sessions into your schedule. Before your dog's stay, you'll speak with the trainer to go over your goals for the program.
This program is designed for basic obedience training and is not a fit for dogs with aggression or separation anxiety.
This program is also a great option for dog owners who want their pup to learn solid obedience skills without committing to a series of weekly sessions. Over the 7 days, your dog lives with one of our professional trainers and works on obedience daily. At pickup, we'll hold a follow-up session with you so the training carries over smoothly at home.

OUR TRAINING APPROACH
We believe dogs learn best when training is clear, rewarding, and enjoyable. Our approach uses positive reinforcement, including praise, food rewards, and play, to help dogs understand what we are asking and encourage them to make good choices on their own.
Training is tailored to the individual dog, taking into consideration their personality, motivation, learning style, and comfort level. Rather than forcing a dog through a behavior, we focus on teaching them how to be successful and building skills in a way that encourages them to enjoy learning and working with their handler.
We do not use shock collars in our training. Our goal is to develop reliable obedience through clear communication, consistency, and positive, choice-based training methods while preserving the trust between the dog and handler.
WHAT TO EXPECT
During your dog's seven-day stay, training is incorporated throughout the day rather than limited to a single training session. We work on obedience, leash skills, household manners, settling, and appropriate behavior around everyday distractions.
Your dog stays in our trainer's home and is part of the household throughout their stay rather than being housed in an outdoor kennel facility. In addition to structured training time, dogs have opportunities for outdoor play, exercise, and downtime. When appropriate and when your dog is comfortable, they may also have opportunities to socialize and play with carefully selected, dog-friendly dogs.
At pickup, we'll work with you so you understand what your dog has learned and how to continue reinforcing those skills at home. The goal isn't simply to send home a dog who has learned new behaviors, but to give you the knowledge and tools to continue building on that training together.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
-
Our Board & Train program is $650 per week. The length of your dog's stay will depend on their current training, your goals, and the skills you would like us to work on.
-
Training is scheduled in weekly increments. Some dogs may benefit from a single week of focused training, while others may need additional time depending on their starting point and training goals. We can help determine an appropriate length of stay after learning more about your dog.
-
Training is individualized based on your dog's needs and your goals. Depending on the dog, we may work on foundational obedience, leash skills, recall, settling, household manners, impulse control, appropriate behavior around distractions, and other skills discussed before training begins.
-
No. Our Board & Train program is designed primarily for obedience, manners, and everyday training needs. We do not accept dogs with serious aggression or significant behavioral concerns that require specialized behavior modification.
-
Your dog's training doesn't end when they come home. Dogs learn within relationships and environments, so you will need to consistently reinforce the skills and expectations your dog learned during their stay. At pickup, we'll show you how to work with your dog and continue the training at home.
-
Please bring your dog's regular food for the duration of their stay, a copy of their current vaccination records, and any medications your dog will need while they are with us. We provide the training equipment and other necessities needed during their stay.
-
We do not have a specific minimum age for Board & Train; however, puppies must be fully vaccinated before they can stay with us. Because much of our work involves training service dogs that regularly work in public environments, we take the potential risk of exposure to illnesses such as parvovirus very seriously. We prefer to err on the side of safety and cannot accept puppies until their veterinarian has completed their recommended puppy vaccination series.
-
Yes. Boarding is available at a rate of $35 per day. While boarding with us, your dog will continue to receive outdoor play breaks, time in and out of their kennel, and opportunities to socialize with dog-friendly dogs when appropriate and comfortable for your dog.
The primary difference between boarding and Board & Train is the structured training time. Dogs staying with us for boarding continue to receive daily care, interaction, exercise, and appropriate social opportunities, but they do not receive dedicated training sessions as part of their day.
-
At this time, we are not offering private training lessons. Our training schedule is primarily dedicated to our service dog programs, along with a limited number of Board & Train clients. This allows us to give the dogs in our care the time and individualized attention their training requires.
For pet dog obedience training, our Board & Train program is currently the primary training option we offer.
